VOLUNTEER HOURS
HOURS VERIFICATION POLICY
Purpose
This serves to provide information on how to obtain hours of verification for future employment, graduate/professional schools, etc.
Eligibility
Current Rock Medicine volunteers who have met the following:
- Have met the minimum hours of volunteer service (See Minimum Hours Policy)
- Completed a ten-show sheet that is complete and verified in their volunteer account.
- License and certification(s) are active in MainMed.
- Volunteer is active and in good-standing with Rock Medicine
- Abides by Rock Medicine Code of Conduct
- No disciplinary actions noted in their account.
Types of verification
Acknowledgment of volunteer hours – Minimum 100 Hours of Service
- Completed ten-show sheets and is verified in their volunteer account.
- Completed at minimum 100 hours of service that can be verified via mainmed and volunteer hours log. (HOURS LOG CANNOT BE RETROACTIVELY DONE)
Any third party forms must be approved by Rock Med Administation
Who this applies to:
- Volunteers applying to medical/nursing/other professional schools who want to list their Rockmed hours of service on their application.
- Volunteers applying to jobs, internships, other opportunities that require verification of volunteer work, acknowledgment.
Acknowledgment of volunteer hours + Specific Duties letter – Minimum 200 Hours of Service
- Completed ten-show sheets and is verified in their volunteer account.
- Completed at minimum 200 hours of service that can be verified via mainmed.
Who this applies to:
- Volunteers applying to medical/nursing/other professional schools who need to provide a detailed list of tasks/work completed while volunteering for the organization.
- Volunteers applying to jobs, internships, other opportunities that require specific duties listed or specific forms filled out.
Letter of recommendation (See LOR Policy) – Minimum 375 Hours of Service + Completed Hours Verification log.
Process to Request
1. Complete and meet the above requirements
Be in good standing with Rock Medicine
Have all current certifications updated in MainMed
Timeline
1. Submit request on HelpHub within the required timeline.
2. Once requests are submitted, an email confirmation will be sent to the address used to submit the request, verifying the forms have been receive
- If no confirmation is received within one week, please email info@rockmed.org to check on status.
- If requesting school/work forms to be verified, please include the forms with the signed log (MUST BE A PDF SCAN and MUST BE CLEAR AND LEGIBLE) and request. Please do not complete the tasks/duties section.
- Incomplete Rock Medicine volunteer verification forms will not be processed.
- If you are requesting Rock Medicine to fill out School/Employment forms you must complete any sections that require your signature only. (200 hours is required)
Special Notes
For those applying to medical school, nursing, or other professional schools and interested in listing
your Rock Medicine experience on your application, you must have completed the following:
- At minimum 10 shows, verifiable by turning in your completed show sheet.
- show sheets must be signed at the time of the event to qualify as completed.
- License and certification(s) are active in MainMed.
- Volunteer is active and in good-standing with Rock Medicine
- Abides by Rock Medicine Code of Conduct
- No disciplinary actions noted in their account.
