Education Divison

Led by Radhika Kenkre, Allison Acdol, and Harsh Kaur, the Education Division oversees CE lectures which are regularly held via Zoom, ensuring they comply with proper legal requirements for credit and records are maintained. Radhika works with prospective lecturers and course developers to help them design their courses and offer them to our volunteers.

Opportunities to get involved: We are always looking for suggestions for CE topics as well as lecturers interested in hosting a CE lecture. If you are interested in getting involved, you can contact them via HelpHub (top bar of MainMed after you log in) by using the general question option (just be sure to say you want your question directed to education).

Scribe Program: Overseen by Harsh Kaur, the scribe program will utilize the scribe course designed by volunteers to offer training on medical charting and eventual implementation of scribes at Rock Medicine events. The course is available on the LMS and cohorts will be announced periodically via the weekly update email.

Medical Spanish Course: Michelle Pimentel is actively working on the first two modules of a Medical Spanish course, designed to help volunteer communicate with non-English speaking patients. This course is based on the work of a group of volunteers and will be posted to Rock Medicine Learning when it is completed.

Computer Aided Dispatch System

Led by Filbert Zhang and Brian Spencer, Rock Medicine is in the process of building an in-house CAD system for volunteer dispatchers to use to manage teams and log calls at events.

Opportunities to get involved: We are currently not recruiting coders for the project but will eventually request feedback and offer training sessions on the new system. Announcements will be relayed via weekly update emails.

Pre-Health Committee

Led by Reyna Zaver, Claire Keller, and Bella Bonvino, Pre-Health Website was create as well as a Pre-Health Mentor Matching Program.

Opportunities to get involved: We will be looking for new volunteers to take over these positions later in the summer/early fall, please keep an eye on the weekly updates for application information. If you would like to get involved sooner with helping to update the website with new resources for pre-health volunteers, you can contact the team via the submit a resource tab.
